Description
Seeding Fields was one of our goals for this year. We would like to start with a 40 acre field, and then another one in the fall. We need $8000 for this project for the seed and equipment hire. Currently we are on a property that has native grasses and has been cattle grazed for many decades, which means we need to care for the native land, grasses and natural features of this land including the stream, trees, and marsh areas. We love the diversity of our acres we care for and we feel it is important to prevent erosion of soils by seeding in native grasses to keep the soils where they are and to strengthen the ecology of our property. We believe in being good stewards of the land and we are grateful we have been blessed to make the choice to ranch.
Besides our Alpacas which live off of this land we enjoy Eagles, Ravens, Ducks, Elk, Deer, Fox and many other small animals and birds.
