Vinson Massif is a little known diamond! He was Ernesto’s rival in the show ring when Karen and Hugo were showing in 2010 & 2011. Ernesto and Vinson went back and forth in the show ring, each earning Color Champion when the other was reserve or 1st. Vinson’s half share was purchased by a Colorado breeder in 2010, and he has been in CO for much of the time since 2010. We have had the privilege to purchase Vinson in full ownership, and is now a standing Stud on our Camano Island Ranch.
We bred to Vinson 2014 season, and we were struck by his upright stature, solid bone, typey head, and his fine fleece! Check out Vinson’s histograms below! He has very dark points and dark gums, so he will most favor dark colors, excellent combination with his fineness.
Vinson Massif’s biopsy results: 60.5 follicles SQ MM, S/P ratio of 12.7:1 and a micron variation between primary and secondary fibers of 8.1 These results are from his biopsy conducted at three and half years of age.
